Making a Marketer 2: Marketing has a marketing problem

The Marketing Festival team has released the film documentary Making a Marketer 2, featuring personalities from the current marketing scene.

The team behind the Marketing Festival conference filmed a sequel to the marketing documentary and published it last week under the title Making a Marketer 2: A Marketing Festival Documentary . After the cinema premiere on Tuesday, the documentary can be viewed on the YouTube channel of the Marketing Festival from Thursday, October 24. The documentary features personalities from marketing theory and practice such as Professor Byron Sharp, Mark Ritson, Jes Scholz, Zoe Scaman, John James, Tom Roach or Tchiba Marketing Director Steffen Saemann .

“I know it’s weird, but marketing has a marketing problem,” says marketing consultant John James at the end of the documentary, among other things . Marketers, in his opinion, don’t really “understand the game” they’re in, and that’s why their decisions aren’t strong. It starts with the fact that they cannot define what marketing is about.

Professor Byron Sharp also states in the documentary that senior strategic decisions should be made by real marketing experts, but according to him, this does not happen very often.
