What every wine brand needs to know about on-premise in China

Abstract: On-premise channels of distribution are often more accessible for many wineries, particularly in comparison to traditional retail formats, and are commonly used by most small and medium-sized Australian wine brands. Understanding the who, what, when, where, why and how of the on-premise channel can provide Australian producers with a competitive edge. This article presents key findings from the Australian Grape and Wine Authority (AGWA) funded China Wine Barometer (Wave 3). Respondents were demographically representative of age, gender and income of the upper-middle class urban population of various locations throughout China.
