SA Telstra Business Women’s Award finalists named
THE boss of Adelaide and Monarto zoos has been named as one of 15 finalists in this year’s Telstra South Australian Business Women’s Awards.
Elaine Bensted, formerly chief executive of TAFE SA, is one of three contenders in the “for purpose and social enterprise” category, alongside Cara’s Liz Cohen and Carmen Garcia from Community Corporate.
Through Cara, one of South Australia’s largest disability service providers, Ms Cohen and her team of 940 staff and 100 volunteers, look to empower people with disability by supporting their choice and control over how they live their lives.
Now in their 23rd year, the Telstra Business Women’s Awards — which The Advertiseris media partner of — celebrate the achievements of business women and awards ambassador Joe Pollard described the SA finalists as “exceptional”.
“The 2017 finalists have followed very different paths to business success but they have all shown determination, innovative thinking and exceptional leadership to deliver real business impact,” she said.
Local award winners will be announced on October 17 and then progress to the national finals on November 21.
